Now, for the faint of heart – don’t worry. There are no graphic images here. However, the story itself is quite disturbing indeed. Recently, in San Francisco, a pet Chihuahua was kicked so hard by a stranger on the street that the puppy slammed on a nearby wall and got a cracked skull.

The dog is named Puppet and is a cute Chihuahua and Jack Russell mix. In fairness, the video shows Puppet actively barking at the man, and Puppet’s owner – Lynda Coburn – reported that the stranger threatened to kick Puppet if it keeps barking.

Nevertheless, even if you are annoyed at a dog’s barking, breaking its skull is not only unjustified but is also a serious offense.

And see, we get it – we all have bad days from time to time.

We all have those days that things aren’t going our way, when long-thought of plans are falling apart, and when nothing seems to be happening the way we want it to. And we also get that not everyone feels about dogs and cats the way we do – it’s perfectly normal for not everyone to be enchanted by the love of our four-legged pals. But breaking a puppy’s skull just before it barks at you a couple of times? This is inexcusable and sick.

Animal Care & Control is currently actively searching for the perp. They are asking for the public’s help in identifying the man who brutally kicked Puppet into a wall.  As for Puppet herself, she is currently receiving care at an emergency hospital.

If you have any information regarding the suspect or his whereabouts, please call Animal Care & Control emergency dispatch at 415-554-9400 or e-mail [email protected].

“Our agency is on the front lines of investigating animal abuse and neglect,” said Virginia Donohue, Executive Director of Animal Care & Control. “The community acts as our eyes and ears. If anyone has evidence that animals are being mistreated, I encourage them to call our agency.”
