Anyone who thinks that dogs are loyal to us just because we feed them should take a look at this story. It categorically demonstrates dogs’ unreserved devotion and love not just for the people that feed them, but for fellow dogs as well. Just recently, in Arizona, a dog saved fellow dog from drowning in a pool.

In a dramatic video which you can check out here, courtesy to Globalnews.ca, you can see Smokey the dog struggling to get out of a pool. Smokey’s savior, Remus, is right above him and is trying to help.

According to The Dodo, Smokey really isn’t a good swimmer and is usually careful when going to the pool. This time, however, he found himself in the deep end and couldn’t get out.

The entire incident was filed on May 1 by the security camera of the pool complex in Mesa, Arizona.

The video shows Remus pacing back and forth outside of the pool and around Smokey. The hero dog makes several tries to get to his friend and help him get to dry land. Eventually, Remus jumps in.

Since pulling Smokey hadn’t helped Remus swam behind Smokey and tried pushing him.

Eventually, his efforts reap success and he gets Smokey back onto land. After that, Remus also got out of the pool and the two dogs ran away together.

In a Facebook post, Laurie Becerra from the pool complex said the two dogs got “a little rambunctious.”

“Jay recorded this off our security camera when he saw Smokey all wet,” he said.

Becerra also said that they sent the camera footage to Remus’s owner, who also happens to be her best friend.

“When we saw the footage, we were amazed and our hearts filled with joy,” the friend said. “My best friend cried when we sent her the video. She says he’s a certified lifeguard now.”
