Depending on what kind of animal you’re hunting, there are certain breeds better for a particular game. There are many great dogs for hunting, the American Foxhound, Vizsla, and Dogo Argentino is just a few, and make great family dogs too. These dogs are fast and athletic with lots of endurance. With excellent training and socialization skills, they can be put in various situations and behave accordingly. They love to please their owners and will protect their families if necessary.

The American Foxhound is a great dog for all types of hunting, and they’re quick and determined. This dog will pursue the hunt once they have picked up a scent and are hard to call off. They are competitive by nature and enjoy a good chase. The Foxhound comes in all colors and usually have a few spots or patches throughout the fur. They are built more tall and slender, not being over 85 lbs, with large eyes set wide apart and long legs.

The Vizsla is a medium-sized dog that has short hair and comes in varying shades of brown and gold colors. This dog was bred to work in the fields and water and is very agile and light-footed. They need constant vigorous exercise to keep up with the amount of energy they produce, and usually excel quickly in training. Any long hair or full black noses in this breed have been mixed with other breeds and are not purebred. This dog is fearless and should not show any signs of timidity or weariness around others. The Vizsla is a great family dog and loyal companion.

The Dogo Argentino is a large dog with a moderate amount of energy, and they do require lots of rest with their exercise. This dog has a very muscular build, with proportions across the body being equal. A large head, all white with the occasional black spot are the typical markings in this breed.  This dog moves quietly yet firm and diligently, making a great dog for hunting game. The Dogo Argentino is very friendly and cheerful, and signs of aggression are abnormal.

All of these breeds are excellent, loyal, companions who live to please their owner. They require lots of attention and exercise to maintain a calm and mild-mannered energy level.
